SmartBoards are awesome! I think not only SmartBoards are a great use for education, they are also fun! Teachers can do just about anything on smartboards, from showing lessons and powerpoints to dissecting frogs. It is a fun and great way to learn.
I think that the game Just Dance is the coolest technology I have ever used. I think it's awesome that just by holding the controller in my hand, it can tell whether or not I am doing the proper movements. It is also a good work out and a fun way to hang out with friends.
I have the hardest time waking up in the morning. I have tried every alarm clock there is and none of them seem to work for me. However, I came across this website with 10 awesome alarm clock that I never knew existed. This is by far the coolest technology I have ever seen. I need all of them!
Having an android smart phone makes my life so much more organised and so for this reason, I would have to say that my HTC Desire is the coolest technology I have ever seen. It is so handy being able to access internet to check emails between classes. But I also have access to all my apps, one app in particular, "VirtuaGym". VirtuaGym can be used to instruct you through a gym workout, whilst providing you with a means of keeping track of your progress online. I think VirtuaGym could easily be integrated into the PE classroom.
Between providing me with all the cool apps, internet capabilities, a HD camera, and of course my music, I can safely say that my HTC Desire is the coolest piece of technology I've ever seen.
I think the coolest technology I've experienced was in high school. At North Allegheny we had the privilege of using a smartboard. I feel with the use of these smartboards, we were able to learn more information quicker. Bringing technology into the gymnasium will be a focus of mine, because of the impact it can have on learning. Also, we used heart rate monitors which could quickly calculate our heart rates, amount of calories burned, and the time spent in our heart rate zone. Having these heart rate monitors on gave our class an incentive to try harder and have fun during class.
I think that the coolest technology out there today is the kinect for xbox 360. Just the system and the game opportunities are very exciting but I see so much more potential with the system. For example I saw a commercial the other day where a man was moving his hands in front of the system and causing a real life mechanical object to move next to him. This technology would be great for the elderly when they lose the strength needed to do everyday things. The system has so many potential advancements, that is why I think it is the coolest technology.
I definitely think that the ipad2 is the coolest pice of technology that I'v seen and used at the moment. I know I might me a bit blind sighted as I love mac products, but it is there shear simplicity in use and innovative apps that win me over. After getting a macbook at the start of this year I now bring my lap top everywhere I travail, be it on holidays or travailing to away games to get college work done or to watch movies. But as a result I have been on edge when I travail as they are so easy to break. Having an ipad with is basically a hand held computer would be so much easer to transport and protect. Hopefully while in the US I plan on getting an ipad2 and I have a feeling it would never leave my hand.
I liked using movie maker on the computer. I thought that it was hard and confusing at first but once I figured it out, I thought it was pretty cool. I didn't know there was so many cool things you can do to make a movie right at your own computer. I thought the short clips I filmed weren't going to be good but movie maker made it pretty awesome. It is something I want to continue trying in the future.
I don't know if this is the coolest thing I've seen. It is hard to give that distinction to just one thing when there is so much new technology coming out literally everyday. Anyway I'm going to go with the sOccket soccer ball. It is a soccer ball with magnetic rotors inside. The the ball is kicked and played with and the rotors charge a 3.6-volt battery. I don't believe you can currently buy one now, but you are able to donate one to a child in a developing nation. Soccer is the favorite sport in most if not all developing nations, so the children are able to play with the soccer ball all day, and they will have power at night for things like a light to read. I believe they plan to sell these on a buy one, donate one basis eventually, similar to Tom's which is most famous for their shoes where every pair you buy they donate a pair to a child who needs shoes.
more on the sOccket can be found here: http://www.soccket.com/
Seeing as how I am not so great with technology, there are a lot of pieces of technology that I think are the coolest. This is mainly because I'm fascinated by technology and how much there is to learn about it on a daily basis. I think that the coolest piece of technology up to date is probably the ipad 2. I definitely do not know much about it, besides what we went over in class, but I really think that it's amazing how one little piece of equipment can do so much! You can basically take your life with you wherever you go! I'm pretty sure that it'd be great to have one.
The coolest technology that i like to play is Just Dance 3 on the Xbox Kinect.I like that you can do any motion and the sensor picks up everything. I also like that there is no remote that you have to hold as you do with the Nintendo Wii. Just dance has a variety of songs from oldies to todays hit music which also makes it fun. Finally, there are different levels easy, medium, and hard which makes it a challenge if your dancing starts to become too good in the easier levels.
I believe the coolest technology out there right now is the kinect for xbox 360. I have yet to play it but I have seen it on tv and the internet. I think its amazing that their is no controllers and the games go on your body movement. There are numerous games out there for the kinect. I believe the technology is only going to get better and more crazy.
I think that the Just Dance (DDR) are amazing. It's a fun way to get children active without them thinking about what others might say. They can set goals on high far they can go on it. Also I like how the child gets immediate feedback if they miss a spot or not. I feel that if a physical education class has stations set up, that the Just Dance game would be ideal because it does not take up a lot of room either.
I think the coolest technology I have ever used was the iPad in Tech PETE class. I have seen people using them before but have never actually used one myself. I really enjoyed using it and am amazed at how many apps there are. You can do so much on just this one piece of technology such as making a grocery list, a workout schedule, set reminders, look up sports scores and so much more. I think these would be great to have in a classroom but might be kind of pricey to get.
I think that the apple products such as the ipads, iphones, and itouches are the most impressive technology i have have seen. i like how user friendly that all of these products are. they can all be used as well, each one of these can sync and have the same apps on them, so no matter where you are you can access them. i personally own all three of theses products and use all of them. they make things more convent, and i think they can do the same when it comes to education. integrating this type of technology into the class rooms will be beneficial to the students as well as the teachers.
I personally beleive that ALL technology is cool. I can't even begin to understand how people create it or come up with it. However, I think one of the coolest is the Kinect for x-box 360. The fact that it detects your movement without the player wearing anything or holding anything, just blows my mind away. I do not really know how it works or who could have came up with it, but it is definitely very cool! It just makes you wonder what is coming up in the future.
I do not have very much experience with various technology mainly because i am dotn understand it and most of the time i feel like it is a waste of money. Honestly my favorite piece of technology is my cell phone. I think cellular devices are really cool because they make it so easy to contact people any time you want. They are really convient and when you think about it they have really changed the world. You used to have to write letters to contact someone far away but now it is one simple push of a button and they are talking to you. My siblings and I just recently bought my mom an IPAD and i played with it some over break and it was pretty cool but as far as actually working with and having experience with I am going to have to stick with the coolest thing is the cellular phone!
I think all of the Apple products are the coolest pieces of technology. From the IPods, IPads, Macs, etc all of these pieces of technology are unbelievable. They are so easy to use yet so sophisticated and have plenty of opitions to do on each. All of the Applications and uses for Apple products are amazing and user friendly that they can be used from toddlers to senior citizens. I definately think Apple products are the coolest pieces of technology.
I personally think the ipad is very impressive. I was skeptical at first because I didn't see the point of it. But after using one in class I could see it replacing computers at some point. It basically combines all of the technology gadgets that we carry around into one thing.
I haven't personally used this app but I saw that Google created a map app but rather than being road maps,it maps out locations such as; malls, airports, and retail stores. I feel like whereas it might not be the "coolest" technology it would be really useful on a number of different occasions. In reality, how many times are you somewhere in a nice place looking for some sort of directory because you're wondering where the heck you are? Smart phones in genereal are an extremely cool piece of technology because they make all of these useful app's possible.
I have to say iPad and Wii are the best technology. i have a Wii and i use it almost daily for fun as well as a workout and i enjoy it every time. i feel like there are good amount of games out there and more keep coming. i so totally want a ipad just because they way they can be used inside and outside the classroom is amazing. I feel like they are still trying to figure out all the cores in the systems so i am waiting a couple of years.
I think one of the coolest pieces of technology that I've every seen and used is a hand help GPS unit. They can locate where you are up to a yard away. I think these things are crazy awesome. I have downloaded topographical maps on to them and have used them hunting out west. They are not only useful for finding your way to a place but they can also be used in PE classes. I just taught a lesson in 352 on using GPS units for Adventure Ed. You can do scavenger hunts with them and can try to run to a location before it takes you to a new one. These can be used for many different uses and plus its a great way to enjoy the outdoors.
Being honest there are many cool types of technology out there, but at the moment i have to say my digital camera is the coolest piece of technology out there for me. I love it. I love taking photos and videos of new places on it. It also allows me to do great things like make teaching cards for teaching also. I would like to either buy a proper photographer camera or a camcorder though. but still to me at the moment my camera is the coolest piece of technology to me
I'm not a very tech savvy kind of person. I don't own a smart phone or tablet. I just got an iPod last year and the only thing I know how to do is put songs on it and play it. For me, I think the coolest thing is something that I feel that I am good at. I like Cool Edit Pro to cut and splice music. For my dance studio, we need to cut and splice music all the time. I learned how to use Cool Edit Pro about five years ago. I really like using it to create my music for the dances I teach. It can get frustrating because I know that it can be perfect and I always work at it until it is. Most of the time, no one can tell where the cuts in the music are. Last year for our recital music, there were over 20 songs that I put together for myself and the other teachers. I would do the whole recital just so I know that I will like all of the finalized songs. In fact, I better get busy on some songs for this year. Competition and recital time will be here before we know it.
There is a lot of great technology out there! I have been fortunate enough to use smartphones, iPads, laptops, heart rate monitors, and so much more. For the purpose of physical education, heart rate monitors are pretty nice. In personal physical fitness with Dr. Hull, we learned a lot about how to set up our heart rate zone and well has what the zone meant. I can’t wait to see what they think of next!
I think the coolest technology is having a gps on your cell phone. It makes it much more conviennt when you are in a area your not familiar with you can find any place you want to go. When i first moved to Slippery Rock i would type in a store i really enjoyed and it would tell me how far and where it was located. Cell phone gps's make it nice to find the fastest way to travel as well.
the GPS units we have at Slippery Rock is one of the coolest technology i have seen. i was teaching an adventure ed. lesson and used them. u could use them to find things that are place in a field or woods. i used them to play wak a gecko it was a game where you run until you are over the gecko and hit a button then get the next one. i has u running all over the field.
I believe that the coolest technology that we have is a modern cell phone. My cell phone for instance is a Droid 2 by Motorola. Before I got this last year I had a normal slide phone and hardly used it. After getting my current phone I now use my phone for everything. There's an app for that is a very true statement. The other very important purpose I am now accustomed to using it for is information. Google it, two words that settle an argument instantly. Not to mention the GPS, navigation, calendar, and many more basic level items and tasks you can use it for.
SmartBoards are awesome! I think not only SmartBoards are a great use for education, they are also fun! Teachers can do just about anything on smartboards, from showing lessons and powerpoints to dissecting frogs. It is a fun and great way to learn.
